  1. Trump's too stupid to understand the complexities when he still thinks that tariffs on Chinese imports into the US are paid by the Chinese. The US importers pay for them and US taxpayers/consumers ultimately suffer from the price hikes.
Trump's barking dogs trade war advisors are leading him on a wild goose chase.
Ask Prof.Richard Wolff for a detailed explanation, not from these backdoor economists.

  2. China did manipulate it's currency in the 1990's, they lowered it three times over a 15 month period causing the hedge funds to take two hits before they (wisely) bugged out and the "1997 Currency Crises" then swept Asia.
History shows you can lower your currency once (Malaysia) and get away with it …….but not thrice.
Since then China has allowed it's currency to appreciate, some years by as much as %15 but controlling that rise is wise policy, economies must adapt without shocks to one particular sector.

  3. I am surprise a person sitting at this position can lie through his tongue without a blink of his eyes!

  4. PILLSBURY, WITH DUE RESPECT, YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CHINA AND THE WORLD. YOUR ELEMENTARY TRAINING IN MANDARIN DIDNT EQUIP YOU ENOUGH, NOT A BIT, TO UNDERSTAND CHINA AND CHINESE CIIVILISATION. YOUR STANDARD OF CHINESE IS YOU KNOW CLEARLY YOURSELF, IS NOTHING BUT PRIMITIVE. ITS REALLY AMAZING HOW YOU GO AROUND TELLING EVERYONE THAT YOU KNOW CHINESE. YOUR THEORY OF MARATHON IS NAIVE AND LANGHABLE, BUT YOU DID RIDE THE WIND OF ANTI CHINESE MOVEMENT AND SINOPHOBIC MIND SET OF THE ILL INFORMED QUITE SUCCESSFULLYI. FROM THIS , I SUPPOSE YOU HAVE EARNED YOUR MEAL TICKETS. YOU THINK AND U TELL THE WORLD THAT YOU DISCOVER THE SECRET OF CHINA.S GRAND SCHEME AND WORLD AMBITION, NOTHING CAN BE MORE RIDICULOUS THAN THAT. FOR THE CHINESE ELITES, USA IS TRIVIAL AND JUST PEBBLES ON THE SURFACE OF THE ROAD. REMEMBER WHAT THE CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTER SAID, LET THE AMERICANS THINK THOROUGHLY WHO IS THE PROTAGONIST OF WORLD HISTROY AND WHO IS THE PASSER BY. USA, WITH I/TS 200 YEARS NORTH HISTORY HAS YET TO PROVE ITS SURVIVAL AND ENDURANCE IN THE NEVER ENDING PATH OF WORLD HISTORY. TO DAY,, USA AND ITS GOVERNMENT ARE ELUDING THE WORLD AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE THAT EVERYTHING THE CHINESE HAVE BUILT AND PLANNED TO BUILD ARE ALL STOLEN FROM THE USA. INTELLECTUAL THEFT, PREDATORY FOREIGN POLICY, DEBT TRAPS, STATE CAPITALISM, TOTALITARIANISM, MILITARISM, AND EVERYTHING IMMORAL AND DEMONIC FORMED THE CHARACTERISTIC OF THE CHINESE STATE. CHINA NEVER OPENLY PROTECT HER STAND, THATS WHY THE AMERICANS ARE NAIVE ENOUGH TO BELIEVE THAT ALL THESE ARE THE TRUTH. WHAT A SHAME. SIMPLE COMMON SENSE WILL SUFFICE TO CRACK ALL THESE MYTHS AND INTELLECTUAL HALLUCINATIONS. AIDED BY SUEDO INTELLECTUALS LIKE MIKE PILLSBURY, THE ANTI CHINESE CIVILISATION TREND HAS BEEN SET. PILLSBURY KNOWS NOTHING, HE IS VERY FAR FROM STRATEGIST LIKE BREZINSKY OR HENRY KISSINGER. AND HE TAKES TOO MUCH MEAL TICKETS FROM TAIWAN. IT IS WORRYING IF AMERICAN POLITICS AND SOCIETY ARE INFLUENCED BY THE ANTI CHINESE , XENOPHOBIC GROUP, IT WILL BE A WORLD DISASTER.

  5. If the so-called "hard-liners" in China derailed the trade talks between the USA and China, perhaps it is because they saw America's antagonism towards China, by America having sought the extradition of Huawei's CFO, Ms. Meng Wanzhou, and by America's repeated infringement upon Chinese sovereignty, by sending US naval warships to sail within the 12-nautical mile limit of Chinese islands in the South China Sea. America is largely to blame for the break-down of these talks. Besides, American companies who choose to do business in China and to enter into "joint ventures" with the Chinese, they do so voluntarily. They were not coerced into going to China, but saw that by doing business in China, where the cost of labor is considerably cheaper, they could save the American consumer much money. Everything was beneficial to those companies, while China has only asked that it be reciprocal, by gaining access to such technologies. That, my friends, is called prudence.

  6. I'm Chinese and I love trump. I would pay 100% tariffs voluntary. Cuz I jerk off to blacked.com I'm a cuckold

  7. Imagine you yourself write "I OWE YOU" note to any stores you visit.  And somehow every store gives you goods in exchange for that paper note.  And further, they will send that note back to you for safe keeping.  And somehow you feel cheated by this arrangement and get angry about.  Imagine that.  Wait, don't imagine.  That is exactly what US is doing.  🙂

  8. Without China market,Germany and Japan will tear off USA auto industry in a second, just remember this. The competition of American global companies are not only fro China. If China takes side with airbus,Boeing will be in big trouble. Before signing any agreement, nothing can be considered as promised.Even after signed, there is the American way that no need to take it seriously since it is not signed by me.

  9. This guy said the operative term -State controlled. As in the nature of China's economic structure. He played it down, suggesting that there are reformers among China's policymakers who would prevail in forcing party hardliners to yield to Trump, if the tariffs exact the sort of economic reversals Pillsbury expects them to create. But his downplaying that reliance on reform in China is a strong U.S. bargaining position is playing serious Russian Roulette with the American economy. The U.S. banked on reformers upending the anti-American socialist regime in Venezuela…and is still waking for that regime change to take hold. Further – other countries are not nearly as invested in U.S. prevailing in this standoff with China as Pillsbury clearly wants Fox watchers to believe. Not even Europe, not even Japan, who are just as cognizant of how massive is the potential for economic boon dealing with China as America seems oblivious.

Lastly – exhorting Americans to stop buying Chinese products…that is a ludicrously unworkable strategy. ESPECIALLY in the short-term. One…most Americans would not comply with such a device, not voluntarily. Two…prices on consumer purchases would go through the absolute roof in the U.S. More people than most clearly fathom are already living even deficient of paycheck to paycheck. Consumer debt would get crushed, which would accelerate purchases of Chinese products.

You guys…you really talk a good game. But if China doesn't regard that a deal is in their best interest…no matter what Trump threatens…a lot of Americans will be having Top Ramen as a staple of their diet for a long, long time. They will not back down. And nobody – not Trump, not nobody – thinks its no big deal if American consumers have to suck it up financially until China MAY finally decide to broker a deal they will honor…which would NEVER include capitulating to tariffs.
